Dear Parents and Students, 

We in the Central Middle School Counseling department understand the profound ways in which all students, parents, and staff have been affected by the recent global pandemic.

Students' lives were abruptly changed and disrupted in mid-March, with little warning or time to prepare.  Middle schoolers as young as eleven years old are suddenly adjusting to online school, physically isolating from friends, and fearing for their health and safety and that of their family members.

Parents are faced with additional stressors during this time.  Working from home, while maintaining a household, fearing the virus, and helping children learn remotely, are all part of an unprecedented and unnerving challenge parents never imagined.

Teaching staff at Central have rallied to educate your children remotely, many of whom have small children of their own.  All teachers are dedicated to making this situation work, and are willing to help your child in any way.

Your school counselors are here to assist you.  Although we are not physically present in school, we can support you from a distance.  Please reach out to us by email if you need any type of support.
